I have a flat close to my home city that is available to build on. I have more than 10,000 in all resources, and 250 workers. Why when I click on it does the build city option not show up. All that I see are the options to scout or attack? Is it because I am still listed as a beginner?

First, you have to be ranked as a Knight (to find out how, click here). Secondly, you need to attack and conquer the flat first. Be aware when doing this. Check the level of the flat (1 or 2 would be best at this point). Then scout to see what kind of forces you are up against.

The only flat I've been able to find so far are level 4 and up. Can't find anything in level 1.

Thanks for the instructions and the warnings.

It was a level two, protected by 52 pikemen. I attacked and it is now mine.

It seems that the 'quest' function does not work the same way when you build your second city.

I have built a couple of cottags, a farm, a quarry, and a couple of sawmills that I have increased to level 2.

Am I going about this right? It seems that it will take alot longer to establish a bit of security there.

Is there a way I could ship over any resources from my main city to speed up the initial buildup?

I"m unclear on where I need the 250 worker... is it in the city or at my main city?

When I sent the troops back home, the 250 workers stayed and they are the ones building the new city. I had expected the "quest" function to work the same way as it did when I built my first city. It does not. I think I had about 10,000 units of each resource to get started. It is going to be a longer process, unless I can figure out a way to share resources with the new city.

If you click your new city on the map, you get the options of transport and reinforce. Transporting you can send resources back and forth, and whatever troops you use will return automatically. With reinforce, the troops sill stay at that city.

You can conquer at any time, as long as you have the rank and spaces for it. At baronett you are allowed 3 cities, so as long as you only have 2, you can conquer one. If you already have three, you cannot. In the early stages, its probably easiest to just start from scratch. When you get bigger and stronger, you can take over other players cities and get to keep whatever buildings they have already, giving you a nice headstart.
